Literature Text

He was harsh brushstrokes
On a canvas torn and sliced.
But my god he was beautiful.
He laughed fleetingly
And his smiles were full
Or danger and attitude.
He could turn
The most innocuous sentence
Into something filthy.
He had bad boy
Written all over him.
But damn it was sexy.

Still, no girl trusts the bad boy
With her heart.
Maybe a night of fun,
Two if it was good,
But women want
To laugh with their men,
To feel protected
And safe,
But wanted too.
And damn was it sexy
To hear the words I love you.

So when he flashed
That predator smile
And drew her in
With blushing laughter
No one was more surprised
Than her
When she felt all those things
And fell head over heels
For the boy who didn't believe
In rings
Or the word forever.

But he bought her
Lillies and wine
And used the word never.
As in never going home,
Or never growing tired
Of how her skin
Would blush pink
When he turned her words
Into innuendo.

And maybe one day
They'll whisper those
Terrifying words,
Quietly at first
As nerves make voices flee
But stronger every time
As they learn to trust
In each other
With something so delicate
And Tender.

But for now,
His smile
Will drip with attitude
And her skin
Will tint pink
With the barest hint
Of his voice.
And for now
Neither need more than that.

The imagery here is great!
