Literature Text

you don't need a knife to cut someone.
you don't need an arrow to destroy a target.
you don't need a gun to end a life.
You don't need to deliver a fatal blow to kill someone.
There are so many other ways for a person to die, just because the muscle called a heart pumps blood around the body and the organs we call lungs suck in the cold air doesn't make a person alive.

Look around you, no matter where you go there will be a person who has died, inside.
Imagine a busy shopping street.

Maybe its the homeless man sitting by himself in the corner not even bothering to watch the people avoid him. He thinks of his last meal, a piece of stale bread. He wonders where his next one will come from. He imagines some kind person, who comes along and buys him all the food he could eat, to take him to a warm bed and have a good night sleep, to see that giving up on the human race was a mistake.

Maybe its the old man who sits on a bench dedicated to a person six feet underground, thinking of how his life partner is gone and his children never come to see him anymore, he doesn't have anything to loose but he still fears the final death more than anything.

Maybe it's the mother with a screaming baby and a toddler that wonders around on his own. She is in young in years but she has aged twenty years since hardships she couldn't imagine took hold. She has little money but works like a dog for every coin. She wants the best for her children and cries at night with a glass of wine because she knows she can never provide.

Maybe its the girl sitting on wall, she's there when you arrive and there after you leave. there is nothing spectacular about her, brown hair, ordinary clothes, but you notice her instantly. The look on her face that tells you she isn't seeing whats in front of her and a sadness in her eyes that brings a lump to your throat. She doesn't move but you get the impression that she is ready to run. When you look at her you want to now whats she's thinking but you know it would be more than you could bear, the things she has gone through.

Maybe its a girl that smiles with her friends and laughs when they do but behind their backs all animation leaves her face. the people she is with do not notice but subconsciously they stop asking her questions or for her opinion and when she says her parents want her home no one really cares. She does go home and her family do the same, try to include her, she may stay with them for a while, watch TV or listen to them talk but then she goes to her room and just sits there until something else forces her to do something.

Or maybe its the person who only went out because they needed to get away from it all, to lose themselves in the bright colours and loud voices. To walk from store to store without really taking notice of where they are. And when there is nothing else to do, just sits there and watches, pretending to be busy on the phone or with a book so as not to look out of place. This will be the most difficult one to spot because they act in a way that makes you look over them, they are invisible in a crowd. They become whoever they need to be to stay un-noticed.
Have you ever looked beyond the surface of things. It seems as though the last three have some resemblance to my life.
I'll probably delete this or move it to scraps or something later on

I feel like the last paragraph.
